| Tinker Hatfield
Tinker Hatfield grew up in Halsey in Linn County, Oregon, where he completed Central Linn Secondary school. In high school graduation he was an allstate athlete in basketball, a football player, also as an AllAmerican in track and field, leading to him being named because athlete of this year in 1970 for top school athletes in Oregon.
Tinker Hatfield attended the University of Oregon where he ran track for coach and Nike cofounder Bill Bowerman. At one point in time, Tinker Hatfield even held the pole <a href=http://fenntaler.nl/cd/newbalance.html>http://fenntaler.nl/cd/newbalance.html</a> vault record at the University of Oregon. Academically, he studied architecture and finished the University of Oregon School of Architecture.
Tinker Hatfield joined Nike almost 30 years ago initially to style Nike's rainforest headquarters also known the "Nike Campus" in Beaverton, Oregon. It had not been until the mid 1980's that Tinker began designing footwear.
He found that his architectural skills could also be applied to jogging shoes. Tinker had also been published with the architectural style of his Portland, Oregon home. He states to have designed the crosstrainer to provide a "multisport" shoe while he realized people at his Oregon gym brought various sneakers together for diverse activities for instance basketball, aerobics, weightlifting and jogging.
