But that competition may just be on hold for a short time, or it will not even come to pass if Nike has their way. All production and purchases with the Primeknit in Germany will be on hold pending a hearing, after which Nike will push so that it will an irreversible injunction, thus preventing adidas from ever releasing the Primeknit within the market again.
We have been pleased the District Court in Nuremberg has given our application a great interim injunction against adidas for patent infringement through "adizero primeknit" shoe released in July, 2012. Hence, adidas continues to be ordered to fix the manufacture and distribution for the shoe in Germany.
Nike posesses a strong heritage of innovation and leadership in footwear design and development. Our patents are the foundation of that leadership and now we protect them vigorously. In this case, the injunction helps protect the innovative Nike Flyknit footwear technology Nike introduced in February, 2012.
