First, readers can note the humor for the title. Once this were a poem a few hungry puma purchasing a meal, would it crave a voice? Would it not crave hair? No, it wouldn't. So, this is the poet, filled up with longing and the mask/personae from the puma to show in what way savage his desire is. In this sense, Neruda is among the finest romantics to ever put pen to paper. Yet, beyond that, you will find the sexually charged imagery. The poem is short and symmetrical there are plenty of slant rhymes while in the third and fourth lines for each stanza; thus, a languid and beautiful rhythm is completed.
